ZZ Top Baton Rouge reviews
So-So
Ann Wilson is still a power house of a singer and I thoroughly enjoyed her performance. But the switch time between performers was a bit long. Jeff Beck is an amazing guitarist if you’re into that kind of performance, but I enjoyed him better when he performed with ZZ Top. And finally, Dusty must have been under the weather because his voice came across terrible! However, he and the band still gave a good performance and encore. And if this gets read by anyone at CWMP, PLEASE!!! For the love of all in Texas, TURN UP THE FANS to encourage more air circulation!!! Overall, I had a great time with my friends and’s and I’d like to do it again when it’s a but cooler.
Not what they used to be
One of the 4 seats I purchased was broken. I spoke to the usher who told me to sit in any empry seat. Unfortunately, people from the 300 section had come down from the back and were playing musical chairs with empty seats, so it was hard to find 4 together that were as good as the ones I had purchased. It was difficult to understand Billy on the mic, the dance moves that used to be such a part of the act died with Dusty. Billy can still play the guitar, but it was not the same ZZTop I saw at Nashville Rising tears ago that brought the house down. Jeff Beck is still an amazing guitarist. The best part of the show was when he and Billy played together.
JEFF BECK WAS GREAT, ZZ TOP WAS GREAT
As far as the concert goes it was really good. Venue not so much.
I always try to get front row of the section I get seats in and purchased such.
not happy about showing up to 2 rows in front of my seats that did not show up on Ticketmaster when I bought my seats. What is worse is that all but 2 of those seats remained empty for the entire show. I was told they were VIP seating or season pass seats.
Getting in and out of the venue is a nightmare huge bottleneck. Which is why I believe so many people were disrespectful to the Band and left the show an hour early to try and beat the traffic.
Uncooperative
My daughter and I had really good tickets to this event. We drove 90 minutes to get there and could not get in. My daughter is 24 years old and 6 mos. pregnant. She had no intention to drink any alcohol and, to avoid the bag hassle, left her purse at home. We got all the way through the casino just fine, security would not let us into the concert area because my daughter only had a photo of her ID on her phone. Even after checking her photo of her driver's license and having her sign in (on a hotel computer) with the DMV to prove she was the person in the photo, the head of security still refused to let us go into the concert. We were free to hang out in their casino of course. We were robbed of both the experience and the money spent on tickets. On top of that, we were providing a ride home for someone else in the concert, so we decided to eat while we waited. I had the worst thai salad with chicken ever! Talking Stick Resort will be boycotted by my family and friends forever!
